Tamim emphasized the need to prioritize diplomatic and political solutions through dialogue among all parties in order to strengthen regional security and prevent further escalation.
The call also highlighted the importance of continued communication on current issues, particularly the protection of maritime navigation routes, strategic waterways, and global energy and trade flows.
According to the statement, both sides stressed the importance of maintaining stability in key shipping lanes and ensuring the uninterrupted movement of global energy supplies.
Regional tensions have intensified since late February following a series of military developments involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, which have significantly impacted security dynamics across the region.
Iran has carried out retaliatory actions targeting Israel and Gulf states hosting U.S. forces, and tensions have also affected major maritime routes, including the Strait of Hormuz.
A ceasefire brokered with the involvement of Pakistan took effect on April 8, and diplomatic efforts to reach a broader and more lasting agreement have continued since then.
